PLEASE HELP! ! !
My name is Anthony Bowden. I am writing this letter in hope that it will help me gain support or assistance for a friend. His name is Jerry Towsend and this is his story.
Jerry is orginally from St. Petersburgh, Florida. He relocated from there to Dayton, Ohio in hopes of finding employment and improving his financial position. However, due to a lack of job openings and probably the economy, his search was unsuccessful. After some time his funds ran down and he was forced to seek shelter in a homeless facility.
The rules or policies of the center dictated that Jerry had to spend his days on the street, usually seeking employment, until later in the evenng when he had to stand in line and hope there was room for him in the shelter that night. If there was no room he was forced to sleep on the street, under bridges and over passes or anywhere that might provide some kind of shelter from the cold and other weather conditions. There were a number of nights when Jerry stood in line only to hear, "I'm sorry, we are at full capacity. You will have find shelter else where."
After one such night Jerry was found by a stranger, shivering and unresponsive. The stranger called an ambulance to take him to the hospital. However, that same stranger relieved Jerry of all of his money and valuables. While the paramedics did take him to the hospital, they left all of his clothes and personal property behind. It was lost forever.
Upon arrival at the emergency room, Jerry soon learned that he had contracted a very severe and serious case of pneumonia. A day later he slipped into a coma that lasted about forty-five(45) days. Upon his awakening, Jerry was told by his physicians that they did not expect that he would gain a level of functionality higher than that of a child.
In an attempt to help speed his rehabilitaion along, Jerry was sent to the West Chester Nursning and Rehabilitation Center, near Cincinnati, Ohio which is where I made his aquaintance. I have witnessed his hard work and dedication. I am pleased to report that by the grace of GOD, Jerry has definitely surpassed the expectations of the doctors. He is now performing and communicating at an adult level.
Now, his heartfelt desire is to return home, to St. Petersburgh, Florida where he had some level of normality, a basic support system and employment with his old employer. All he has to do is get home. However, since all of his money and valuables were lost, he has no means to make the trip back home. Jerry and I both trust in the LORD. In fact, I feel that is what moved me to write this letter. I hope that someone of you will be moved to assist Jerry in his attempt to get back home.
Jerry and I would like to thank you for taking the time a putting forth the effort to read this letter. We feel that GOD will truely bless any and all of your effort to assist in this situation.
THANKS, AGAIN!!! And have a blessed day!
Sincerely,
Anthony Bowden &
Jerry Townsend
